Our Story
Urban Flooring was established in 2013 in Al Quoz, Dubai's flooring and trade hub, as a supply-and-installation flooring company. From the start, the approach was to handle both sides of the job, supplying the material and fitting it with our own team, rather than selling a floor and leaving the installation to someone else.
Over the years since, we have completed more than 10,000 projects across the UAE, a selection of which are written up as case studies, for homes and villas, offices, retail, hospitality and other commercial spaces, and grown our range to cover every major type of flooring. We operate under Trade Licence 130570, a registered flooring company serving Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider Emirates.

Meet the Founder
The person behind the company is Muhammad Gulbadin, who founded Urban Flooring in 2013 and still runs its operations. Fifteen years in the trade, more than ten of them spent fitting floors himself, and he is on sites daily rather than behind a desk. Urban Flooring is led by Muhammad Gulbadin, our founder and operations manager, who has worked in the flooring industry for over 15 years. He spent more than 10 of those years as a hands-on installer, and it shows: he still visits sites every day rather than running the business from a desk, because he prefers to work with his hands and see every floor for himself.
That daily, on-the-ground involvement is why our advice is practical rather than theoretical. Muhammad's depth of material knowledge, across vinyl, wood, parquet, epoxy and carpet, means our whole fitting team works to one consistent standard, and customers get honest guidance on what genuinely suits their room and the UAE climate.
Our In-House Team
Unlike companies that subcontract their installation, Urban Flooring uses its own in-house fitting team. The people who measure and advise on your floor are the people who fit it, which means one consistent standard of work and a single point of accountability from the first visit to the finished floor.
Our installers are experienced across every flooring type we supply, vinyl, carpet, epoxy and resin, wood and parquet, laminate, rubber and EPDM, and terrazzo, including the specialist trades that need real craft, like terrazzo grinding and polishing and EPDM wet-pour surfacing. Because material and installation come from one company, there is no finger-pointing between a supplier and an outside fitter if anything needs putting right. We stand behind the whole job.
Our Approach
We built Urban Flooring on a simple idea: a flooring company should be accountable for the whole result, not just the part it sells. That is why we measure every floor on site before quoting, and give honest advice on which floor actually suits a space, even when that means recommending a cheaper option or steering a client away from the wrong material.
The aim on every project is the same, the right floor, properly fitted, by the team that quoted it, with no surprises along the way.

We supply and fit every major type of flooring, for homes and businesses across the UAE: vinyl and its rigid-core variants, carpet in broadloom and tile, wood and parquet, laminate, epoxy and resin, rubber and EPDM, terrazzo, and rugs. Material and installation come from the same company, so one team is accountable for the finished floor.

How long has Urban Flooring been in business?
Since 2013, so over a decade of trading in the UAE market. The company started in Al Quoz as a supply-and-fit business and has stayed one, and the project count now runs past ten thousand across homes, villas, offices, retail, hospitality and healthcare, with the range widening steadily over that period.
Do you use your own fitters or subcontractors?
Our own fitters, always. Nothing is handed to an outside crew, so the standard of work stays consistent and one company remains answerable for the finished floor. It also removes the gap where problems usually get lost, with a supplier blaming a fitter and neither taking responsibility for putting it right.
Are you a licensed flooring company in Dubai?
Yes, fully licensed and registered in Dubai, with the licence number shown on this page and premises in Al Quoz Industrial First. We are a contractor rather than a broker, and licence and trade documents can be supplied to commercial clients or building management whenever a project calls for them.
What types of flooring do you supply and install?
Every major floor type, which is unusual for one supplier. That covers the vinyl family, soft flooring, timber in solid and engineered form, laminate, resin systems, poured and precast decorative finishes, sports and play surfacing, and loose rugs. Working across all of them means we can compare options honestly instead of pushing one range.
Do you work with homes, businesses, or both?
Both. Villas and apartments make up a large share of the work, and we also deliver commercial projects for developers, hospitals, hotels, offices and retail. Commercial jobs bring demands a home does not: phased access, out-of-hours working and contract-grade specification, and we are set up for all three.
Who oversees the flooring advice on this website?
Our founder and operations manager, Muhammad Gulbadin.
