What Is WPC Flooring?
WPC flooring is a waterproof rigid-core vinyl with a wood plastic composite core, a blend of wood fibre and polymer. It clicks together like SPC but is thicker, warmer and softer underfoot, which makes it comfortable for living spaces. Urban Flooring supplies and fits WPC vinyl flooring across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

How WPC Flooring Is Made
WPC is a rigid-core vinyl, one of the types in our vinyl flooring range, like SPC, but the core is the difference. It is built up from four layers:
WPC core vs SPC core: WPC uses a wood-polymer core, which is softer, warmer and more cushioned; SPC uses a stone-polymer core, which is denser, harder, thinner and more heat-stable. Both are 100% waterproof rigid vinyl.
WPC vs SPC, Which Should You Choose?
WPC and SPC are siblings, both rigid, both waterproof. The choice comes down to comfort versus hardness.

Honest note: WPC is slightly less hard and less heat-stable than SPC. For very high-traffic, commercial or direct-sun rooms, SPC is the safer pick. For comfort in living spaces, WPC leads.

Is WPC flooring a good choice for UAE homes?
Yes, especially for comfort. WPC is waterproof, warm and soft underfoot, and quiet, which suits living rooms, bedrooms and apartments. It handles kitchens and bathrooms too. For very high-traffic or direct-sun rooms we may suggest SPC instead. We advise room by room during a free site visit.
WPC or SPC, which is better?
Neither is simply better, they suit different needs. WPC has a wood-polymer core that is softer, warmer and quieter underfoot, ideal for living spaces. SPC has a stone-polymer core that is harder, thinner and more heat-stable, better for high-traffic, commercial and sun-exposed rooms. We fit both.
Is WPC flooring waterproof?
Yes, fully. WPC has a rigid waterproof core, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms and other wet areas, and water will not make it swell the way it can with laminate. The waterproofing is part of the core, not just a surface coating.
Is WPC suitable for hot or sun-exposed rooms in the UAE?
WPC is fine for normal air-conditioned interiors. For rooms with strong direct sun, such as conservatories or unshaded glass-fronted spaces, SPC flooring is the safer choice because its stone-polymer core is more heat-stable. We will recommend honestly based on the room.
How much does WPC flooring cost in Dubai?
As an indicative guide, supply and fit runs from around AED 90/sqm (about AED 8.4/sqft) for standard WPC up to around AED 200/sqm for premium thicker boards. WPC sits near or a little above comparable SPC. Thickness and wear layer drive the price. Request a free site visit.
Is WPC warmer and quieter than other vinyl?
Yes, that is its main advantage. The wood-polymer core has more give than a stone-polymer SPC core, so WPC feels warmer and softer underfoot and absorbs more sound. It is a popular choice for bedrooms and living rooms where comfort and quiet matter.
Can WPC go over underfloor heating or existing floors?
WPC works with many underfloor heating systems within the manufacturer's temperature limits, and its rigid core lets it lay over most sound, level existing hard floors. We confirm suitability and prepare the subfloor correctly during the visit.
Do you supply only, or also install?
Both. Urban Flooring is a supply-and-installation company. One team handles design and spec advice, measurement and click-fit installation, so there is a single point of accountability. Supply-only orders are possible if you have your own fitter. Free site measurement comes as standard.
