Villas suit a mix: wood or parquet in formal living and dining rooms, waterproof SPC or LVT in family areas, kitchens and bathrooms, carpet in bedrooms, and WPC composite decking for gardens, terraces and pool surrounds. On Saadiyat and Al Raha Beach the sea air makes waterproof and weather-resistant materials especially worthwhile.

For wet and humid spaces, waterproof vinyls like SPC and LVT are the most reliable, since they do not swell or warp the way some floors can. Natural wood, bamboo and cork suit dry, air-conditioned rooms. Outdoors, and especially near the water on the islands, composite decking handles sun, heat, salt and moisture far better than natural timber.
