Herringbone SPC Flooring: Valia Tower Apartment, Dubai Creek Harbour
Urban Flooring supplied and fitted warm natural-oak herringbone SPC flooring throughout an occupied apartment at Valia Tower, Dubai Creek Harbour. The rigid-core planks run across the living and dining area, bedrooms, corridors and kitchen in a single continuous herringbone pattern, laid neatly around existing joinery and a floor access hatch.

The Apartment
A furnished duplex at Valia Tower in Dubai Creek Harbour, one of Emaar's premium waterfront communities. The owners wanted a warm, natural herringbone floor to lift the living spaces without a full renovation, so the work was done around the existing kitchen and built-in wardrobes rather than stripping the home back.
The Flooring We Installed
We laid warm natural-oak herringbone SPC across the whole apartment in one consistent direction, so the pattern reads as a single surface from the entrance through to the kitchen. Rigid-core SPC suits a lived-in Dubai apartment: it is hard-wearing, water-resistant, quiet underfoot and stable in the heat. Matched wood-tone skirting finishes every wall line.

Fitted Around a Working Home
This was an occupied apartment, not a bare shell. The planks were set around the existing cherry-veneer kitchen, the built-in wardrobes and the duplex staircase, with a clean cut-in around a floor service hatch in the kitchen so it stays fully accessible. Corridors and thresholds line through without awkward breaks.

Why Herringbone SPC Works Here
Herringbone gives a small apartment a sense of craft and movement that straight planks do not, while SPC keeps maintenance low. The warm oak tone reads bright against the white walls and picks up the existing timber joinery, so the new floor looks original to the home rather than added on.

FAQs
Is SPC flooring good for a Dubai apartment?
Yes. SPC has a rigid stone-polymer core that stays stable in Dubai's heat and humidity, resists water, and takes daily foot traffic well. It is quiet underfoot and needs little maintenance, which makes it a practical choice for occupied apartments in towers like Valia at Dubai Creek Harbour.
Can you lay herringbone SPC without emptying the apartment?
Yes. On this Valia Tower project we worked around the existing kitchen, wardrobes and furniture rather than clearing the home. We stage the work room by room, protect what stays, and cut the planks neatly around fixed joinery and floor hatches so the space keeps working throughout.
What is the difference between herringbone and chevron SPC?
In herringbone, rectangular planks meet at a 90-degree right angle to form a stepped zig-zag. In chevron, the plank ends are cut at an angle so they meet in a continuous V. Both are premium looks; herringbone reads more classic, chevron more contemporary. We install both.
Do you supply and fit, or fit only?
We supply and fit. The price covers the SPC material, matched skirting, subfloor preparation and installation as one job, so you deal with a single team from measurement to finished floor. A free site visit and measurement in Dubai Creek Harbour starts the quote.
Planning a Herringbone Floor in Dubai Creek Harbour?
The finished apartment shows what a single well-laid floor can do: one warm herringbone surface tying the living spaces, corridors and kitchen together, fitted cleanly around a home that stayed lived-in the whole time. To do the same in your Dubai Creek Harbour apartment, book a free site visit.
